Overview

The lecture provides overview of state-of-the-art JavaScript multi-tier application architectures and development frameworks. React.js is chosen as front-end development framework for rapid development of modern, responsive single-page applications that are easy to extend and maintain in long run. The back-end technologies include Node.js and Express framework, our database will be MySQL Using node-MySQL.

Prerequisites

  • JavaScript advanced – async programing, latest features
  • js basic knowledge

React.js

  1. Using the react CLI
  2. Setting up our client application
  3. Building Components (Components types)
  4. Connecting out application to redux and saga

Node.js

  1. Setting up node.js application
  2. Building modules
  3. Using express to create our web server
  4. Composing our application from modules
  5. Nodejs express router
  6. Recommended packages
  7. Middleware’s: cors, body-parser, bluebird, etc..
  8. Securing our
  9. Dockerizing our node.js application (if time permits)

Mongo DB – if time permits

  1. Running MongoDB on docker container
  2. Working with Mongoose
